Graduate Admissions
Graduate applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and have graduated with at least a 3.00 (“B”) grade point average. A candidate who has performed work equivalent to an undergraduate degree or completed 9 semester hours of graduate coursework with a grade point average of 3.25 also meets the minimum requirements for admission. Applicants may also be required to show proof of proficiency in English, which can be done by either attending a qualified institution or submission of an unofficial test score with a Verified Score Report. Biomedical Engineering is a highly interdisciplinary field, and our students have highly diverse backgrounds and skill sets. While students without a strong background in math and science may need to supplement their degree with additional classes, not having a degree in engineering does not disqualify you from our program.
For both MS and PhD candidates, the application deadline for Fall 2026 admission is December 1, 2025. Only MS students are eligible to start in the spring semester, and the deadline for Spring 2026 admission is September 1, 2025. Both Spring and Fall semester applications open in mid-July.
The application fee for domestic applicants is $50, and the fee for international applicants is $80.
