Cooper Casale is a PhD candidate in English literature. His work examines the affective engineering of reactionary political movements. His current project examines fascism not as a specific political or economic state of affairs but rather as an inconsistent and chaotic set of embodied practices and positions. He has published articles inÌýThe Journal of Wyndham Lewis Studies,ÌýThe Journal of Popular Culture, Science Fiction Film & Television, The Helsinki Notebooks, and Enculturation: a Journal of Writing, Rhetoric, and Culture.
In addition to his critical work, he has published poetry and fiction in nationally circulating magazines such asÌýstorySouth,ÌýNew South Journal,ÌýandÌýThe Chattahoochee Review, and his music has seen multiple short-run cassette releases, most recently from LA-based label FREAKS.ÌýHis work examining the American sitcomÌýThe OfficeÌýand its neoliberal commitments has recently been featured inÌýColorado Arts and Sciences Magazine.
He received his BA in English literature from the University of Georgia, his MFA in poetry from Georgia College & State University, and his MA in English literature from the University of Tulsa.
