The Work Wear Safety shoe truck will be here on campus at the GROC parking lot. If you work in Facilities Management and your work shoes need replacement please plan to stop by:

Wednesday, July 29, 2026, 12pm – 4pm

If you need new safety shoes please download/print the safety shoe voucher (requires login to SharePoint) and get it signed by your supervisor and bring it to the shoe truck with you.

All the safety shoes available in the truck will be ANSI certified. More information on the FM Safety Shoe program is available on our FM Safety SharePoint site.

The Business, Finance, and Infrastructure Mentor Program (where Facilities Management is housed) has a wonderful mentor program that I have been managing for years, and new for 2026, we are looking for GED mentors to assist our frontline staff.

We have partnered with Aims Community College and their Adult Education Department to help our staff earn their GED. Our staff are doing well and could really use the extra support that a mentor would provide. The commitment is a minimum of two hours a month for the academic year. Through Aims, our staff set up 1x1 instruction (virtual) with a GED teacher throughout the week. Aims using AZTEC as their Learning Management System and can see where our staff are at in real time in their studies.

On Wednesday, Aug. 12, staff from Business, Finance and Infrastructure (BFI) and the Division of Public Safety (DPS) are invited (and encouraged) to come together and dedicate a few hours of service back to our campus community. Our goal for the day is to engage with and give back to our campus. All registrants will receive a boxed lunch as well as a CU �ֲ��ý branded canvas bag as a thank you for volunteering.

Please consider joining us for a fun day of volunteering. Registration closes at 5pm on Thursday, August 6 so sign up today. After you register, details about where to go and what to bring for your job will be emailed to you on Friday, August 7.

Starting July 22nd, Transportation Services, the CU Bike Program and Community Cycles will be co-hosting group bike commutes along the Highway 36 bike path to locations in �ֲ��ý, including CU's campus. Additional rides on the Hwy 119 Diagonal bike path will kick off once open. The goal is to harness the momentum of bike to work day and offer a supportive way for new and experienced riders to commute together. Full details can be found on Community Cycle's Commuter Hub

BFI Supervisors,

As we prepare to welcome our students back to campus, this is a perfect moment to pause and make sure you have the tools, support, and strategies you need to lead well during a busy season. Our supervisors set the tone for the entire BFI experience, and we’re excited to bring you a session designed to strengthen your well‑being and your team’s well‑being as we head into fall.

To do that, we’re looking forward to our next BFI Supervisor Community of Practice on Thursday, August 13th. This session will be highly interactive and focused on supervisor well‑being and the role leaders play in creating healthy, sustainable workplace cultures.

We’re excited to welcome Jess Morris, Program Director for Employee Wellness & Engagement (WorkWell), and Paulette Erickson‑England from the Faculty & Staff Assistance Program. Together, we will:

Participate in discussions about the role supervisors play in shaping a culture of well‑being
Learn strategies to support well‑being for both yourself and your supervisees
Identify factors that contribute to workplace burnout and practical approaches for prevention
Consider the U.S. Surgeon General’s Framework for Workplace Mental Health & Well‑Being

Our award‑winning Mentor Program is back!

This program pairs staff with experienced mentors across BFI to support career growth, confidence, and connection. Participants meet regularly, engage in guided development activities, and build relationships that strengthen our entire division.
