Students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts degree in German Studies (GRMN) at CU ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will learn about all areas of German culture and its crucial role in the formation of the modern world. This interdisciplinary major focuses on the study of the German language, its manifestations in history, and its use in the current cultural and social context. ÌýThe department strongly recommends that all majors take part in study abroad and offers competitive scholarships to support study abroad.
An education at CU with a major in German Studies gives students the best of what a humanities education has to offer. Our courses prepare students with practice in innovative and creative thinking; skills in critical thinking, writing, problem solving, and analysis; as well as adaptability and flexibility to live and work in a complex, increasingly globalized world. Their degree in German studies further equips them with discipline specific skills such as German language, knowledge of cultures in German speaking countries, historical and contemporary perspectives.
