Graduate Student Anthropology Collections Assistant

Position: Graduate Student Anthropology Collections Assistant
Hourly Pay Rate: $30

Position Summary:

The Graduate Student Collections Assistant supports the Anthropology Section at the CU Museum of Natural History. This position provides hands-on experience in museum collections management.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Data entry into Re:Discovery Proficio
  • Provenience research and cataloging of bison bones
  • Rehousing bison bones in archival materials
  • Assisting with building shelving, collections move

Required Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment as a graduate student in the Museum & Field Studies Certificate or graduate program
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and follow protocols
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interest in museum collections work

Preferred Qualifications:Ìý

  • Completion of coursework in Museum Collections management
  • Prior experience working with rehousing, cataloging, data entry
  • Knowledge of best practices in collections management

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • 15 – 20 hours per week, flexible
  • Compensation: $30/hour
