ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Holy Family High School is seeking a motivated Intern Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our Department for the Fall 2026 semester, running August 2026 through December 2026, with the possibility of continuing into January 2027 for the right fit. This internship offers hands-on experience delivering strength, speed, and conditioning programs for high school student-athletes across multiple sports, working alongside our coaching staff in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will assist in the holistic development of our student-athletes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coaching & Instruction: Assist with the implementation of Strength & Conditioning programs for all athletes. This includes technique instruction and coaching of strength training movements, Olympic lift variations, plyometrics, and linear and multi-directional speed.
  • Data Management: Collecting, entering, and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Facility Operations: Managing daily set-up and breakdown of training sessions, maintaining facility cleanliness, and maintaining inventory of nutritional supplements.
  • Professional Development: Participating in weekly educational meetings focused on coaching methodologies and exercise science.
  • Other Duties: Any other duties assigned by the Director of Strength & Conditioning. Must abide by all Holy Family Athletic Department Policies.

TECHNOLOGICAL INTEGRATION

  • The Intern Assistant Strength Coach will receive training and hands-on exposure to industry performance technology systems, including:
  • TeamBuildr: For program design and athlete tracking.
  • Dashr: For laser-timed speed and agility testing.
  • OVR Jump & MoveFactorX: For assessing explosive power and velocity-based training metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or a related field.
  • NSCA CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification, or actively working toward certification, strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
  • Prior experience coaching, training, or working with young athletes preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and a genuine passion for youth development.
  • Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule, including some early mornings and/or afternoons.

    COMPENSATION

    This internship is structured as an unpaid, hands-on learning experience; however, a paid opportunity may be available for the right candidate who is CSCS certified or actively working toward CSCS certification during the internship period. Compensation, if applicable, will be discussed during the interview process.

    TERM

    August 2026 – December 2026, with the potential to extend into January 2027 based on performance, program needs, and mutual interest.

Job Description:
The Health Center Assistant is responsible for helping carry out a program of health and safety in accordance with camp philosophy, objectives and related health policies and procedures. The Health Center Assistant will work under the supervision of the Head Nurse, Summer Camp Director, and Camp Nurse. They will work with the camp nurses/medical staff to provide support when health center is at its busiest and assisting the Camp Nurse with coverage of the Health Center between 2-4 pm daily. The Health Center Assistant will help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Health Center, including assisting with record keeping of the medical center. The Health Center Assistant is a part of the Admin team and supports the overnight camp program.Ìý

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 21 years of age preferredÌý
  • Experience in the medical field preferred, including schooling for registered nurse or practical nurse licenseÌýÌý
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time.Ìý
  • Must have current certification in CPR/First Aid or be willing to obtain certification.Ìý
  • Willingness to comply with YMCA and Colorado Department of Transportation rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehiclesÌý
  • Must have a valid US Driver's license or, if required, a Commercial Driver's License.Ìý
  • Must have a satisfactory driving safety record (Verified by MVR Review)Ìý
  • Drivers must complete a YMCA driver training program.Ìý

The aide position consists of:
  • helping out around the clinic
  • checking in patients
  • scribing PT notes
  • maintaining gym cleanliness
  • scheduling of patients
  • taking copays and payments

It is a great chance to learn and work in various aspects of a PT clinic. We would love to have someone who could work 3-4 hours a day several times a week and continue in the fall. The more time a candidate has to work, the more they can learn. This is a paid position and training could start immediately.Ìý
