Completing Immigration Check-In

Who needs to complete the Immigration Check-In?

The immigration check-in process and e-form should be completed by:

  • New international students
  • SEVIS transfer students
  • International students returning to CU ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ on a new I-20 or DS-2019 after a leave of absence of more than 5 months.

When should the Immigration Check-in be completed?

  • International students in F-1 or J-1 status should complete the Immigration Check-In as soon as possible upon admission into the United States but no later than the start date of classes.
  • Students who are transferring their F-1 SEVIS record to CU ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ must complete the check-in form within 15 days of their F-1 program start date as reflected on the Form I-20.

Failure to complete the immigration check-in process will lead to the termination of one's F-1 or J-1 visa status, thereby jeopardizing the ability to legally remain in the United States under valid F-1 or J-1 status.

What are the required immigration check-in steps?

Immigration Check-In MyISSS Portal Forms

The Immigration Check-In e-forms can be accessed in the under Arrival and Immigration Check-In.

Click on "Immigration Check-In", where you can start a new request. Within the Request there are multiple forms, two of which are required and one, which is optional depending on whether you are bringing an F-2 dependent.

  • Homebase Orientation Course Enrollment (Required)
  • Immigration Check-In (Required)
  • F-2 Dependent I-94 Arrival record Submission (Optional)

Homebase Orientation Course Enrollment

Complete this E-Form to be added to the the virtual orientation course, hosted on the Homebase platform. Completion of the this course is mandatory and provides crucial information for maintaining your status. Please complete this course before the semester begins.

Immigration Check-In E-Form

You will need the following to complete the Immigration Check-In e-form:

  • Your university ID (located in your 
  • Your I-94 (Download your I-94 Arrival Record)
  • Your local address (Verify/add/update your local addressÌý¾±²ÔÌý)
    • Can be local residence hall address, off-campus address, or temporary hotel address.
  • Your CU ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ email address
  • A local phone number (if available)
  • Dependent(s) I-94 (if applicable)

Required Title IX Course

New international students must complete the Title IX Course offered by the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance.
